Jackson, MS - The Day of the Lord Foundation will host the fourth annual USA Revival on Sunday, November 21, 2010. The event will be held at the Sparkman Auditorium on the grounds of the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum on Lakeland Drive in Jackson, Mississippi. The event will begin at 3 pm and is scheduled to end at 5 pm.
The USA Revival, first held in 2007, is the brainchild of Day of the Lord Foundation, Inc. founder, Paul Ott Carruth. "This country was founded on Christian principles," says Ott, host of the outdoors television and radio show 'Listen to the Eagle.' "We, as a country, have spent the last fifty or sixty years turning away from the Lord. People are more focused on other things and Christians have been made to feel like they aren't supposed to discuss God outside their church walls. It's long past time to change that. The time has come to proclaim our faith in the eye of the public and to pray for Divine guidance for our leaders in our cities, counties, state and nation."
The USA Revival is a multi-denominational, Christian event that is held annually around the Thanksgiving holiday. The purpose of the event is to bring people together to rejoice in the freedoms and blessings that we share, to proclaim our Christian faith, to witness about the power of Jesus Christ and to pray for God to touch the lives of our fellow citizens and our elected leaders.
"Coming to this event will change your life," says event organizer, Cristy Whittington. "President Lincoln proclaimed the 'last Thursday of November as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our benevolent Father who dwelleth in the heavens.' He talked about how we had forgotten God because we had become 'intoxicated with unbounded success.' Lincoln was right in closing with the statement, 'we have not become too self sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace.' That's what this is about. We need to recognize our Father for the awesome power that he is."
Speakers at the event will include Mississippi Lieutenant Governor, Phil Bryant, Insurance Commissioner, Mike Chaney, Paul Ott Carruth, Chris Whittington, Cristy Whittington and others. There will be musical entertainment throughout the event. The keynote address will be given by Dr. Ed Holliday, author of the book "Walk With Me" and founding member of Glenn Beck's 'Black Robe Brigade.' Concrete Productions will film the event for broadcast at a later date. Parts of the first USA Revival will be aired on Christmas Day on WLBT (Jackson), WDAM (Hattiesburg) and WTOK (Meridian).
The Day of the Lord Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)4 non-profit corporation dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
